Closer to the work. Better for the brand.
I help organizations clarify what they stand for, sharpen what they need to say, and build marketing that feels more coherent from one touchpoint to the next.
Julie Bazinet, Senior Marketing Consultant
My background
I’ve worked in marketing for over 20 years, in organizations where expectations were high, the pace was real, and performance mattered.
My experience includes senior strategy and leadership roles with brands such as Subway Canada and Telus Health, along with work across sports, retail, food service, tourism, and consumer goods. I’ve led teams, managed budgets, and shaped initiatives with a direct impact on sales and brand growth.
That experience taught me a great deal. It also made one thing very clear : what I’ve always loved most is the real work . The best marketing does not come from distance. It comes from staying close to the action.
Closer, Not Higher
I started consulting because I didn’t want to keep moving further away from the part of marketing I care about most.
The more senior you become in marketing the more it starts to drift away from the reason you chose this field in the first place. There’s more management, more politics, more meetings about meetings. And less time spent on the real work.
What I’ve always loved most is still the same.
Understanding a business for real. Finding what makes it matter. Hearing the tension others gloss over. Shaping a message that feels honest, precise, and emotionally right. Building a presence in market that resonates.
The longer I worked in this field, the more obvious it became: the higher you go, the easier it is to lose touch with what matters most.
Sortie67 was built so I wouldn’t.
Staying Close to the Real Work
When the moving parts stop feeling connected
Most organizations already have a website, campaigns, content, tools, a team. That’s not the problem.
The problem is usually that the pieces were built at different times, for different needs, by different people. And after a while, it starts to show.
Sortie67 helps bring a stronger line through all of it.
A mandate may include:
marketing planning and prioritization
campaign thinking and creative direction
website structure, updates, and message refinement
SEO and AI-aware content optimization
Google and Meta campaign support
social content guidance and improvement
email strategy and writing
